Goodbye Baseball

Well it is official, the baseball season is over for the year!(a small tear is present on my cheek!) Garrett's team took 2nd place in the city tournament this year and Hunter's team took 4th. The top three teams can go to the state tournament but half of Garrett's team will be at scout camp the week of the tournament so the 4th place team will go in there place. We will be sad to not go to state tournament this year. On the up side we now have our evenings free to hang out together!

Team Picture. Way to go Dodgers! Notice the boy with the cast! Jesse had 3 boys on his team this year break there arms within weeks of each other (not in baseball). Well he was really shorthanded by this and so Travis (in the pic with the broken arm) was a good sport and still came and played once he got his hard cast. Every time he slid on the bases everyone held there breath! (Can you imagine going to the doctor and telling him you had re broken your arm sliding in baseball! Luckily he ended the season without doing this!)

Garrett pitching. Garrett has always played catcher and done an awesome job but has always wanted to trying pitching. This year Jess was in real need of pitchers so Garrett finally got to try and he did awesome! He was one of the starting pitchers on the team.

My baseball boys!

Hunter pitching just like his favorite brother! Hunter really looks up to Garrett(don't tell them that though!) and so he also wanted to pitch this year. He did really good! He is a whole year younger than most of the kids on his team and a real spitfire!

I was so proud of all my boys this year in baseball(Jesse included!) Garrett's original coach had a family emergency and had to leave town for the summer right after he had drafted the team. Jess was made a superintendent at work this year and has always wanted to coach baseball but never had a work schedule that he could do this. He is able to leave a little more now that he is a superintendent so with a little persuading from his wife:) he agreed to coach. He did tell me that he is now glad he did!(I'm always right! he he) I think it was good for Jess and Garrett both! Jess has even promised Hunter he will coach his team next year! Great job guys!
